Why Trevignano?:
Trevignano is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful towns that I have ever seen, and being
in Italy, it has to stand up to some heavy hitters! I first saw Trevignano (which is only 27 miles
outside of chaotic Rome) on my visit to Rome in July of 1998; and I didn't want to leave! Since
then, we have bought pieces of land and planned houses. For us, there is no better place to be
than here in Trevignano.
Transportation:
Please be advised that we may ask for proof of transportation before accepting a reservation.Trevignano is conveniently located less than 30 minutes outside of downtown Rome. If you don't
feel like taking to the Roman streets with a car, there is a subway line that starts 15 minutes from
Trevignano in Cesano. From the Cesano subway stop, it takes less than 1 EURO and a half hour
to arrive directly to the Vatican city!
Activities:
After one drive around the lake (or visit to a well prepared web site) you will find that you can
choose from an array of activities like horseback riding, mountain biking hiking, sailing, kayaking,
bocce, guided tours, a movie outing, tennis, or maybe a day at the spa - or better yet, if you
don't like artificial spas, jump into one of the hot mineral springs in the area!
If you are lucky enough to come at the right time (summer) you will be able to partake in the
traditional celebrations that take place around the lake, and if you are a less traditional type of
person, fine! You can go to the International Festival of Short Fiction Films, clubs around the lake
or concerts that are held throughout the year.
Ease of Travel:
Due to Trevignano's central location which is right outside of Rome, but also very close to Umbria,
it is a perfect starting point for day trips to Umbria and Toscana, and even trips down south to the
Amalfi Coast area. From Trevignano, one can, in minutes, access the freeways necessary to drive
to areas such as Assisi, Florence, Siena or even to the incredible seaside locations of Porto Santo
Stefano on Monte Argentario, which should not be missed! From Trevignano you start your day-trips
with ease; no traffic, great freeway access, no hassle!
Here is what other sites have said about Trevignano:
Trevignano Romano, only 30 minutes from the heart of Rome, is a picturesque village with
a delightful mediaeval centre situated on a promontory on the beautiful Lake Bracciano.
The ruins of a castle stand on a hill above the village and there is an Etruscan museum. It is
a favourite place with artists and sculptors. A tree-lined road and path along the lakeside
stretch for about three kilometres with many bars and restaurants. overlooking the lake.
For environmental purposes no motor boats are allowed.
On the lake there is sailing, windsurfing and canoeing, and there are several beaches. In
summer there are boat rides round the lake, stopping at the three towns of Trevignano,
Bracciano and Anguillara. The sea is about 35km away. There are many pleasant walks in
the area for those who love walking, and also cycling.
Trevignano Romano in the so called "Tuscia romana" is an ideal centre for trips in a region
of great tourist, artistic and natural interest, and the centre of the Etruscan culture. Apart from
Rome (45 km), the following places of interest can be easily reached .Cerveteri with its Etruscan
tombs(30 km), Bracciano with its mediaeval castle(12 km), Sutri (12 km), Viterbo (45 km),
Tarquinia (61 km), Tuscania (52 km), Caprarola (25 km), the hills of Tolfa and other attractive
places.
